The last world cup was the first I really got into and followed from beginning to end, and I was amazed how blatantly corrupt it was. All the veteran FIFA football fans were saying things like, “They’ll never let this team win” or “The World Cup will never be held in this particular country, they don’t contribute enough money to FIFA”.

Even the newest, most casual observer could instantly tell FIFA was more like a mafia than a sports organization.
